Introduction

For many years I made costumes for various museums, institutions, museums, and individuals. These are a few of the many I made. Any comments will be welcome, and also questions, but I may not be able to answer, as some were many years ago, or on-offs.
To introduce myself, I trained as a mature student, under Jean Hunnisett (a professional theatre and film costumer)and Janet Arnold, (an internationally famous costume historian) at the London College of Fashion in 1981/2. My first cutting job was with the RSC in London, returning to the company I first worked with as a dresser and wardrobe mistress in 1966/7/8. I had also previously been wardrobe mistress for a repertory company at Canterbury, and did many West End shows.
I was lucky enough to find a niche which I thoroughly enjoyed, once I no longer worked permanently for a company or organisation, as one of the teachers at my son's local school heard that I made costumes and asked if I could make her one for a group she belonged to, the Covent Garden Minuet Company, an amateur group who performed 18th century dances in stately homes, museums and art galleries all over London and the Home Counties. The word spread to other groups and I was pretty much constantly employed by non-professional performers until I retired not too long ago. I was lucky enough to be invited to give talks at various places, and many of the photos reflect dances and performances to which these lovely people invited me.
